Owner and professional inspector Ross grew up in Lost Creek, graduated from Westlake High School in 1999, and watched his mom dedicate decades to teaching in Eanes ISD. Westlake and Rollingwood consistently rank among the most desirable places to live near Austin, known for exceptional schools, Hill Country views, and a small-town feel just minutes from downtown.

• Home prices: The median home price in Westlake Hills hovers around $2.5 million, reflecting the executive presence (Redfin).

• Business HQs: EZCORP tops the list of “big businesses” in the community but many growing tech companies, including Cirrus Logic, Kinnser Software, and Epicor Software and professional/legal services call this area home.

Local Favs

We love going back to Ross’ old stomping grounds for a taste of the Hill Country (when it comes to BBQ… literally a taste). Here are a few spots & services our immediate and extended family holds dear.

  Ross’ mom taught here for decades and this playground is truly second to none. Pack up the kids and settle in for hours of outside fun!

• 🍷The Grove Wine Bar & Kitchen – 6317 Bee Cave Rd
  Upscale but welcoming, The Grove is a Westlake staple for lunch and happy hours. The parking is a bit rough so keep that in mind if you’re enjoying it at peak times.

• 🍖County Line on the Hill – 6500 Bee Cave Rd
  Iconic barbecue with a view, perfect for out-of-town guests or an easy Friday night dinner. Actually where Cheryl had dinner with Ross’ family for the first (but definitely not the last) time.

• 🛍️Barton Creek Square – 2901 S Capital of Texas Hwy
  Bring on the 1990s mall culture nostalgia! One of only 2 malls remaining in the Austin area, Barton Creek offers all the glory you remember from your mall rats days. Nordstrom’s, Cheesecake Factory, Build-a-Bear and more.

• ⛪Westlake United Methodist Church – 1460 Redbud Trail
  Where Ross and his sister were confirmed and his family worshipped for the decades they lived in Westlake. Pastors from WUMC performed our wedding ceremony and baptized our son.
