family run.
Locally trusted.
Hi! We’re Ross, Cheryl and Cade, owners of First Responding Home Inspections in Central Texas.
After a dozen years of family life revolving around the stress of firefighting and the related schedule, it was time for a change. Home inspections checked all the boxes: builds on his public safety experience, uses her business degree, is not a desk job for him, and expands our local roots. Having the whole family home for holidays and (most) dinners is the cherry on top.
Our Mission
At First Responding Home Inspections, our mission is to bring a commitment to safety, community, and practical knowledge to the home-buying process. We take pride in earning the trust of our community and in helping folks put down roots in Central Texas.
Ross Black
Co-Owner and Professional Inspector
TREC PL #26543
With over a decade of service as a firefighter in Round Rock and Georgetown, Ross understands what it means to protect people and property. Now, as a TREC Professional Inspector, he applies that same sharp eye for detail and steady judgment to every home inspection. In addition to a professional inspector certification, Ross has certifications in irrigation and sewer scope inspections.
Ross’s approach goes beyond pointing out problems. He takes time to educate buyers on what findings really mean, whether it’s a small repair to plan for or a major safety concern. His calm, professional demeanor helps reduce stress, especially for first-time or “it’s been a while” buyers.
Rooted in Central Texas for 4+ decades, he’s a committed soccer dad and dog-owner. To him, inspecting a house is more than a checklist—it’s about making sure families feel secure, confident, and informed as they move into their new home.
